Recently, I discovered a short film called "Wedlocked" that acts as a mini-prequel to the first Pirates of the Caribbean film.  I couldn't figure out how I missed it before and got the director, Jim Byrkit, on the show to tell us about it.

Yes, the short is hilarious and you should watch it right here.

Jim was also the concept artist for the first three Pirates of the Caribbean movies and created some of the iconic props like that awesome map.  He was also one of the writers on the Johnny Depp vehicle "Rango"

Plus comedy from John Romanoff about being a big guy at the gym and and a song called "Doses" from Hologram Sun.

Noah Scalin is a unique artist.  And artist in the broadest sense of the word.  His music with the League of Space Pirates is a fantastic romp of a story that encompasses music, theatrics, web shows, live shows, and more.

Noah is even more known for his visual arts including Skull A Day in which he presented a different skull piece every day for a year.  Be sure to check out the really cool installation pieces that were part of that project.

Plus comedy from Jimmy Earll about telling white lies to your kids and and a song called "Abridged History of Love" from League of Space Pirates.

Ron Allen and his crew of merry modders  deal in pirate video games.  I lost track of pirate video games after the first version of Sid Meyer's Pirates many years ago.  But there are a lot of cool things happening and PiratesAhoy.net has a lot of it.

We all learn about what goes into modding games, how Ron and his folks saved the Pirates of the Caribbean game from obscurity, and what it takes to organize a project that has thousands of volunteers.

Plus comedy from Keith Lowell Jensen about robo calls and and a song called "Falling Forward" from Iari Melchor.

Happy 2016!  For the first show of the year, I've got a double interview for you.

First up, actor Ray Stevenson who portrays Blackbeard in season 3 (and 4) of Black Sails on Starz.  You've also seen him in the Thor movies, Divergent, and the TV show Dexter.  We get into stuff he's had to do for Black Sails that he's never done before, what went into their decision whether to use the Bristol accent, and why Ibiza is a "tough island".

Then an interview with the only other person running a podcast about pirates, Craig Buddy of the History of Pirates Podcast.  He and I talk about getting started in podcast and why pirates.  Plus how we came to such different formats for our shows.  And he tells a great story about when Julius Caesar was captured by pirates.

Plus comedy from Jason Resler and music from Brad Sucks.
