Morgan Molthrop Jean Lafitte's Pirate Code

For extended show notes and more pirate goodies, visit www.UnderTheCrossbones.com

Morgan Molthrop[ is a former Wall Street investment banker turned New Orleans expert and author.  His current book "Jean Lafitte's Pirate Code: 17 Strategies for Acquiring Until Fortune from America's first Laissez Fair Capitalist" is part history book, part business book.

We don't get to talk post-Golden Age stuff much on this show, so we have some fun digging into the War of 1812 and the Battle of New Orleans where Lafitte played a prominent part.

And we'll hear about Morgan's own trek back from the jungles of Wall St to his home in Louisiana and how he created his new life.

Plus comedy from Steve Sabo.

Neil Massey of Rogue Steel

For extended show notes and more pirate goodies, visit www.UnderTheCrossbones.com

Neil Massey is the owner of Rogue Steel and he builds custom swords and other pointy things for stage and screen use.  We'll dig into his process (since I know nothing about making swords) and he'll tell us about he got into fight choreography and bladesmithing.

We have some good laughs along the way and talk about the custom weapon requests he's gotten.

Plus comedy from Priyanka Wali.

Lee Arenberg of Pirates of the Caribbean

For extended show notes and more pirate goodies, visit www.UnderTheCrossbones.com

Lee Arenberg has a great career as a character actor in many things.  But you'll most know him as Pintel from the first three Pirates of the Caribbean films.  Along with Mackenize Crook's Ragetti, they had some of the best comedic moments of the films and could also play creepy when needed.  ('Ello poppet...)

Lee tells us how the creepy little girl from The Ring helped get the first POTC film made the right way and other little bits of fun like which cartoon character Johnny Depp added into his Keith Richards to mold the character of Jack Sparrow.

Plus comedy from Stuart Goldsmith.

Vince Lozano of Pirates of the Caribbean

For extended show notes and more pirate goodies, visit www.UnderTheCrossbones.com

Vince Lozano is an accomplished character actor most known to you as Jacoby in Pirates of the Caribbean - Curse of the Black Pearl.  And he's one of those actors that's always working and constantly doing film and TV projects.

We talk about how a simple 2 word audition led to 5 weeks of work on Pirates of the Caribbean.  It's a great lesson on saying yes to everything.  We'll also dig into how he went from being a jock to a dancer to an actor and made his way in the big business of LA and what he's up to now.

Plus comedy from Paco Romane and the song "Strike The Bell" by Pride Of Bedlam.

Capt'n Tor and Gwenyvarr The Pirate Republic

For extended show notes and more pirate goodies, visit www.UnderTheCrossbones.com

Ed "ET" Fox is a respected author who's combined his love of research and pirates into a half dozen fantastic pirate history books. He's also been able to bust some of the myths that you and I have been believing about pirates for years.  Some really interesting stuff in this interview.

When you look for his books, be sure to look for ET Fox as searches for Ed Fox will lead you to a way different kind of book that has nothing to do with pirates and could get you called into the HR office.

Plus comedy from Dash Kwiatkowski and the song "Johnny Jump Up" by The Bilge Pumps.
